Mar started singing in RL before talking, and both she likes doing a lot ;-)

She thought it would be nice to share the gift of her voice with special friends in her second life, as voice hadn't appeared yet. So she started recording songs and sent them to her friends, and from that time got hunted by them to sing in Second Life.
When she sent in some recorded songs to be played at The Not Too Hot at a "Stars Revealed" event, she was asked to make her live debut in SL at the Not Too Hot. Which she did in Feb 2008, after being helped with the techies, which she isn't too good at;-)

Now she is a regular artist in the Not Too Hot, and sang at many other places in SL, including B&B's (Gershwin Room), The Blarney Stone, The Drunken Drow, Not2Z and many others. People keep asking her back. Her music is soulful and emoting, she sings jazz, songs from musicals, ballads and a bit of funk and blues. Most of her songs are in English, but she also sings some French and Dutch Songs

At the moment we are looking for experienced hosts to cover at least 2 shifts per week. Every shift is 3 hours.

Our shifts are as followed:
1 - 4 pm slt (Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday Aurelia)
7 - 10 pm slt
1 - 4 am slt
7 - 10 am slt

When there is a name behind a shift, that shift is already covered.

*** Our venue is available 24/7 for residents to sing and perform. We encourage our singers to use voice/local. So it's not a bad thing if you don't own a stream and/or don't know how to use a stream.

For those who do have stream, you can contact one of the staffmembers to help you out.

To perform, please add yourself to the open mic board. You can sing for 15 minutes. If you want to sing more, please remove yourself from the board and add yourself back on it ***

IMPORTANT CHANGES AT THE NOOB

Goal for The Noob was to be a 24/7 live music, open mic & karaoke venue.
Now only people seem to be dropping by during our events.
I'm planning on trying to change this.

Monday's between 1 pm and 2 pm slt will always be for our live performers.
But before and after the performers our 24/7 live music, open mic & karaoke will be available for others to use.

There will be a tag for regular singers and those people will also be able to use our homestream.

January 1st we will start with this new formula.
To make it a succes we need more staff!

Mordewis (Moss) has been playing guitar (badly) since 1964, and singing (possibly) for much longer than that. He sings folk music of the past, present and future, real-time and no-time, the songs you should have heard but never have. His own songs, scattered in liberally (bonus points if you can tell which are originals), have won awards and hearts. TODAY AT THE NOOB: OPEN MIC & KARAOKE

We are so glad that The Noob is beginning to become a name on SL when it comes to open mic, karaoke and live music. We see people becoming regulars and the 2 hours we plan for people to be on stage usually isn't enough.

We hope that as we get more staff we can host 24/7 open mic & karaoke.
Till then we have to do it with the Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday.

We are very happy to have her on our stage again, the lovely miss Suzan Littlething
Suzan, as we have learned, has a sparkling personality. Her sound is fresh, crispy, playful. Influenced by artists like The Beatles, Bob Dylan, Simon & Garfunkel, CSNY, Cat Stevens, Eagles, Jason Mraz, Sarah McLauglan and much more she plays covers from the 60ies till now.
All live, no midi. Her songlist is never ending.

I just love Open Mic & Karaoke at The Noob. We always have a great crowd and talented and/or enthousiastic singers. Lately we've also been having a lot of regulars from which a few I can already call dear friends.

As owner, manager, DJ and host at The Noob I am not affraid to show what The Noob stands for (a place where everyone feels welcome and gets a change to show their talents) and I'm usually on stage myself for 1 or 3 songs. It may not sound very ear pleasing at all times but the keyword is: FUN

All sorts of questions (easy and hard ones and yes... sorry ... Grease questions too) and lindens to win for each correct first answer.
DJ Thorgal will have his stream playing and will take requests.

We've also heard some people ask for Greedy.

We have heard Willow a couple of times at our Open Mic / Karaoke so we know how talented this lady is.

Ever since Willow was a little girl, she's had a passion for singing and music in general. She's participated in talent showcases, and contests since age 13. She has since then started writing, singing, and recording her own music and singing covers, while taking her act to venues in Second Life and attending school for music production.

First of all I would like to say we had an excellent day yesterday.
Suzan's performance was excellent and a lot of new folks found their way to The Noob.
We hope Suzan will be performing at The Noob again soon.

Brene Durant is a guitarist & singer who has been performing in SL since Aug 2006. He is also a songwriter and is known to please the crowd with his original catchy & infectious tunes, with a few tasty covers thrown in the mix.

In RL Brene Durant is a.k.a BRENE WILSON, an alternative pop/rock singer/songwriter & musician from Delaware, USA. Brene has performed many rl shows, festivals and music conferences since 2001. He has released two independent CD's and is currently writing and recording for a new CD, which is scheduled for sometime in 2010.
